Silvers of Kincardine

Silver family members: Top left is Isobel Falconer who married Alexander Silver with her three sons Alex (standing), James (left, who went to Australia) and John (who also left Scotland and may have ended up in New Zealand). The image was taken in 1882. Below her is eldest daughter Hellen with her husband Alex Duncan and most likely their first-born child Isabella. The next couple is son Alex Silver with his wife Helen Jane Watt and, at right, daughter Isobel Menzies Silver who married John Duncan (brother of her sister Hellen’s husband Alex).

The Silver family were farmers in the Deeside area near Aberdeen, Scotland for several centuries. Information on this site regarding them has come from several researchers in Scotland, England, Australia and New Zealand. For my purposes, I start with my great-great-grandfather Alexander Silver’s family.
