Rugged timber-getter
Edward Henry Aldridge (1880-1953) married Mary Ann Richardson and had six children. There was obviously a longevity gene in this union as five of the six lived into their 90s and beyond (Ellen, 102). Their “average” lifespan was 93.5 years.
Ted had a rugged lifestyle as a timber-getter in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland and lived at Yandina, Mooloolah and Eudlo.
However, Ted’s wife Mary Ann died soon after the arrival of their sixth child, Doris. She was only 33 and Ted had the onerous task of raising six children which he did with the help of his late wife’s family in Brisbane.
In 1923, Ted remarried to Minnie Rabjohns.
