James William ALDRIDGE
http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article80429100
That dread malady, miners' phthisis was the cause of the cutting off on Saturday night last, at the age of 37 years, of the life of James William Aldridge ("Jim"), one of the best known mining men on the field.
For twenty years he had been employed at the Brilliant Extended, latterly in the capacity of shift boss and acting manager, but had to relinquish mining for health reasons.
For fourteen months he had been working at the Bluff gardens, and was brought in from there on Monday week last.
Jim had been a prominent figure in Masonic life, being a Past Master of Corinthian Lodge.
To mourn his death he leaves a wife and two sons, and to them in their sadness, the sympathy of the community will be extended.
