    As recorded on original but the Walter Emmerson married to Mary was born 1883. There is a Walter Emmerson born 1888 in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, 65 miles from Newark. He seems to have emigrated to Canada around 1912 according to 1931 census.
    On the 1921 census, Walter Emmerson's age is given as 37 which equates as having been born in 1884.
    Given his birth appears to have been 21 Jun 1883, his age should have been recorded as 38 in 1921.
    There are a number of possibilities such as enumerator error or wrong information.
    However, on balance, this appears to be the Walter Emmerson born 1883 in Newark, Notts, as his wife Mary's details are consistent in both 1921 and 1939.
