Chevington. Funeral of Mr F.Nunn. - The funeral of Mr F.Nunn, who died the previous Wednesday, took place at the parish church on Monday afternoon, the Recotor (the Rev. A. Keble White) officiating. The principal mourners were Mrs. Nunn (widow), Mr. F.(Fred) Nunn (son), Mr E. (Ernest) Nunn (grandson), Miss R. (Rose) Nunn (grand-daughter) and Mrs F.Nunn (daughter-in-law). The elm coffin bore the inscription: "Frederick Nunn, died April 28th, 1915, aged 84* years." Among others who attended were Mrs. G.Cooper, Mrs. Sangster, Mrs. Avis, Mrs. Quantrill, Mrs G.Bridges, and Sergt. Quantrill. Floral tokens were sent, including "In loving memory of my dear husband." "From Fred, wife and family"; Edith; Mr and Mrs. White (Little Whelnetham Hall); Mrs. Sangster and Eva; Lizzie Arbon. Deceased having been for a great number of years a bell-ringer, a muffled peal was run in the evening, the ringers being J.Sharpe, J.Rolfe, A.Rolfe, E.Clarke and R.Quantrill.

The funeral took place at the Borough Cemetery on Saturday afternoon, of Mr William Francis Nunn who passed away at his home, 19 Churchgate St, the previous Tuesday at the age of 80 years.

He was extremely well-known and respected in the district. Born at Great Saxham*, he had lived in this neighbourhood the whole of his life, having worked for many years at the Westgate Brewery as a drayman.

Afterwards he became a gardener and was employed by Mr Ollington before he turned his attention to the jobbing side and worked in many gardens in the district up till six or seven years ago, when ill health brought about his retirement.

All his life he had been a forester. It is now four years ago since Mr Nunn celebrated his golden wedding, and he is survived by his widow., his two daughters and son, to whom the sympathy of many friends is extended.

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev H.N.Keane, curate at St Mary's.

The family mourners comprised the widow, Mr and Mrs W.Nunn, of London (son and daughter in law), Mr and Mrs F.Taylor, Mr and Mrs G.Smythe, of Ely, (daughters and son-in-law), Miss Doris Babbage, of Ely, Miss Renee Taylor, Mr and Mrs. H.Taylor (grandchildren), Mrs R.Dutton (sister-in-law), and Mrs Pamment (friend).

Note: Also mentioned his brother, Joe.
*Records suggest that he was born at Felsham and that his mother's maiden name was Lister. His family is subsequently found at Great Saxham, so this may be why the newspaper report has him born there.. No other William Francis Nunn found in the record that matches him, so the Felsham birth best fits.

THE late Mr Nunn. We regret to record the death of Mr Edward Nunn, who died on June 10th, after a painful illness, most patiently borne. Much sympathy is extended to the widow and son. Mr Nunn was a native of Hargrave, but had lived in Horringer for several years and was in the employ of Mr. A.E.Wood, Street Farm, whe he was first taken ill. He was of a quiet, retiring cnature, but was a general favourite with everyone, and his death at the comparatively early age of 49 is much regretted. The funeral took place at Horringer on Friday, the service being conducted by the Rev. Lord Manners Hervey. The chief mourners were: The widow, Mr Leslie Nunn (son), Mrs. H.Smart, Miss Mary Nunn (sisters). Mr John Nunn, Mr W.Nunn, Mr R.Nunn, Mr H.Nunn,Mr Robert Nunn, Mr Horace Nunn (brothers), Mrs W.Nunn, Mrs. H.Nunn, Mrs W.Everett (sisters-in-law), Mrs H.Smart (brother-in-law), Mrs F.Hunt (niece), Mrs H.Bean, Nurse Johnson and Mrs G.Bullas. Mr. Nunn (father) was unable to be present. * Many others also mentioned.

On Saturday a pretty wedding was solemnised in All Saints' Church, Barrow.The contracting parties were Mr. Robert Nunn, son of Mrs Joseph and the late Mrs. Nunn, of Hargrave, and Miss Blanche Rosbrook, of Burthorpe. The bride who was charmingly attired in a dress of white lace, with veil and orange blossom and carried a sheaf of lilies, was given away by her brother, Mr W.Rosbrook. She was attended by the Misses J. Rosbrook and A.McManus who were attired in residu green with head-dresses of silver leaves and carried bouquets of pink tulips, and wore brooches etc.
Mr Horace Nunn acted as best man and Mr Arthur Rosbrook (brother of the bride) presided at the organ, etc.

4. In the event that my wife fails to attain a vested interest under my will I appoint John Bruce Piggott and John Thomas Turner to be executors and trustees hereof and I give devise and bequeath my entire estate of whatsovever nature and wheresoever situate unto my trustees upon trust (after payment thereout of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and all probate and succession duty federal or state payable upon any part or parts of my estate) to sell call in or convert the same into money (with power for my trustees to postpone such sale calling in and conversion for such period as they shall deem expedient) and to hold the balance thereof upon trust for all the brothers and sisters of my wife and myself who shall be living at the time of my death and if more than one in equal shares it witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 29th day of November 1968.
