NARROW ESCAPE AT STONEHAVEN.-A young boy named Alfred Silver, son of Mr John Silver, grocer, Stonehaven, had a very narrow escape of drowning on Sunday afternoon.
The lad was amusing himself on the bank of the mill-dam below Invercarron toll, when he lost his balance and fell into the water, which was between three and four feet deep.
Messrs George Milner, Charles Forbes, and James Main went to his assistance, the last-named of whom managed to get hold of him when almost at the middle of the dam, floating away with the current face downwards.
He was quickly taken home and put to bed, and is little the worse for his immersion.
