DEATH AND FUNERAL.-It was with deep regret that the inhabitants heard of the death of Mrs E.J.Bridge. The deceased lady had been in failing health for a considerable time, and passed away shortly after midnight on Sunday. She leaves a husband and one daughter to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at the church on Friday, the Rev. A.K.Shrewsbury officiating. The immediate mourners were: Mr E.J.Bridge (widower), Miss A.Bridge (daughter), Mr F.Orriss (father), Mrs Colin Kellas (sister), Messrs. Albert and Arthur Orriss (brothers), Messrs. Fred and Ernest Bridge and Mr Colin Kellas (brothers-in-law, Mrs Albert Orriss, Mrs. Arthur Orriss (sisters-in-law), Fred. Orriss, Jack Orriss, Mrs John Turner and Mrs Jack Orriss (nephews and nieces).
Others present at the grave were: Mrs. A. Copping, Mrs. Mortlock, Mrs. A.Gooch, Mrs E. and A.Rolfe, Mrs. A.King, Mrs. S.Smith, Mrs. Norman, Miss V.Sonter, Mrs G.Nunn, Miss V.Clarke, Mrs. A.Newman, Mrs. G.Arbon, Mrs. E.Nunn, Mrs Rolfe, Mrs. C.Quantrill, Mrs. Tibbs, Mr W.Beavis, Mrs. Pettingale, Mrs. H.Clarke, and Mr. S. The coffin was of polish elm with brass fittings inscribed: "Alice Lucretia Bridge, died April 29th, aged 59 years." Mr. W.H.Cooper was undertaker.
