Josiah J.Nunn passed away at the residence, 940 North 19th street in this city, Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the age of 82 years. Survived by widow, Jennie D. of Salem, two daughters, Louise H. of Portland and Margaret E. of Salem, two sons, Charles T. of Marshfield and Joseph J. of Portland; one brother, Paul N.Nunn of San Diego, Calif. Funeral services will be held at the residence Thursday, Aug 4, at 10.30 a.m. under the direction of Clough-Barrick company. Interment Lee Mission cemetery. OS Aug 3, 1932 5:2 [s/o C.R. & M. - Details of his widow's 1956 obit show they had two sons, Charles T.Nunn, of Walla Walla, Wash., and Joseph J.Nunn, of San Marino, Calif., and two daughters, Louise N.McGilvra, Forest Grove, and Margaret N.Newell, Piedmont, Calif.;
Note also that on 1880 census, his wife's name is Sallie and there is a daughter Grace. There are presumed first family but no trace after that census.
NOTE: On his daughter's Louise's birth certificate, his given names are Joseph James Nunn. Also, in his brother's Lucien's documents, there is a 1908 photo of the first three children born to he and Jennie Durland and he is referred to as Joseph Nunn. Seems to have dropped the Christian name Josiah at some point because on his other daughter Margaret's death certificate, her father's name is given as Josiah J. Nunn.
