The Two Brewers Wheathampstead
In the case of the "Two Brewers," Wheathampstead, the licensee having just died, the amount of the claim was £317 8s., and Mr Flint's valuation £245 8s. Settlement was advised at £250.
Messrs. Pryor, Reid, and Co., Hatfield, were the registered owners.
Mr L.C.Bullock, for Messrs Pryor, Reid, and Co. have £228, and the representatives of the late Mr James Westwood (tenant) £22.
It was stated that the tenant had been in the premises for 32 years.
Sir John Evans suggested a further £10 be given to the representatives of the late tenant, and on his recommendation the division was fixed £218 (brewers), and £32 (tenant).

WHEATHAMPSTEAD
Death of Mr James Westwood.-Attributed to a chill contracted at the cricket match, Married v Single, on Thursday of last week, the death took place on Wednesday morning of Mr. James Westwood, publican, of the High-street.
Mr Westwood was extremely popular with all villagers, and his sudden death from Pneumonia was received with widespread regret.
For many years he was connected with the Volunteers and the local Fire Brigade.
