    • SOCIAL. WEDDING. Fowler-Maxwell. In the Dinmore Methodist Church on Saturday, February 28, Miss Dorothy Gladys Maxwell, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J Maxwell, Taylor-street, Dinmore, and Mr. Raymond Leslie Fowler, eldest son at Mr. and Mrs S. Fowler, Thorn-street, Ipswich, were married by Rev. H. R. Heaton, L.Th. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her away. Mr. R. McNell presided at the organ, and Mr. E. Nunn, uncle of the bride, sang "I'll Walk Beside You," during the signing of the register. The bride wore a Swiss voile frock over taffeta, inset with silk lace Insertion. From the hip length bodice, which featured a lace collar and buttons, fell a fully gored trained skirt. Long tight-fitting sleeves formed a point over the hand. For "some- thing old" the bride wore a brooch lent by her aunt. Her embroidered tulle veil, which was lent by her cousin (Mrs. C. Hodkin- son) was worn over the face and was held in place by two water lillies. A bouquet of white and pink roses, intermingled wlth maiden-hair fern, was carried. The bride was attended by Misses Valma Nunn, her cousin, Jean Edwards, a friend, and Gwen Maxwell, her sister. They were frocked alike in white figured organdi, featuring full swing skirt and Peter Pan collars and finished with narrow red velvet bows and sash. Shirred organdi mittens, with points over the hand, were worn. They wore matching picture hats. Each carried a bouquet of red roses intermingled with maiden-hair fern. Mr. D. Fowler, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Friends of the bride decorated the church. The reception was held in St. Matthew's Hall, Dinmore. where about 70 guests were entertatned. The guests were received by the bride's mother, frocked in Jacaranda blue silk, with navy accessories. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother, who wore blue floral Grafton silk with match- ing accessories. The beautiful three-tiered cake was made by Mrs. S. Nunn, aunt of the bride, and iced by Mr. Chalk, Bundamba. The decorations were in red and white. The bride's travelling frock was of golden harvest Kent silk, with accessories to tone. The bride was presented with a horseshoe by little Roselyn Nunn.
