- Notes from army record explain fatal accident:
Pte Nunn, A.K., died at Cloncurry on 9.8.44 as a result of a cerebral contusion and crushed right kidney sustained when a horse fell and rolled on him at Eighteen Mile Yard, Marion Downs, Cloncurry.
Pte Nunn was not on duty at the time he sustained the said injury.
There was no negligence, misconduct or failure to observe any act, order, or regulation on the part of Pte Nunn or any other person.
Buried in grave 1435 at Cloncurry Civil Cemetery.

*Dubolla must have been property/house name as on 1949 electoral roll, Pearl was living at Dulbolla (different spelling), near Beaudesert, after remarrying in 1928 to Henrich Veltheim. This fits with other information that, by 1944, Albert Nunn was remarried as well.

- Judging by his army record, he may have been absent without leave when he was accidentally killed.
There is a note dated 19 March 1943 that "Pte Nunn A.K. illegally absented himself without leave from 11 TNG BN on 16.2.43. That he is still so absent and that on 7.4.43 he was deficient and that he is still deficient of articles to the value of £ 14.14.6".
There was a warrant issued for his arrest and no indication in the records that he returned to his unit. That indicates he may have been AWOL for more than a year.
