      PFC Gareth MacKenzie Silver was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, PFC Silver served our country until July 21st 1970 in Binh Tuy, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was married. It was reported that he was killed by a hostile small arms fire. He was born in Palo Alto, California, on July 30th, 1948. His body was recovered. PFC Silver is on panel 08W, line 044 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than 1 year.
      He is the Son of Mr and Mrs James M Silver, Palo Alto, California.
      PFC Silver served as a Infantryman with Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry, 199th Light Infantry Brigade, USARV.
      He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat wounds, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
