A Brockley wedding. Plummer-Clarke.
The wedding took place on Saturday at Brockley Baptist Chapel of Mr George Robert Plummer, son of Mrs. Plummer and the late Mr Plummer, of Rattlesden and Miss Ellen Eliza Clarke, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Clarke,"Cresslands", Hawkedon.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a gown of while satin, with wreath and long embroidered veil and white satin shoes, and she carried a bouquet of lilies and carnations.
She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss Ivy Girt (cousin), who wore a blue frock with floral design, made in a pretty style with puckered frills, and her headdress was of silver leaves.
She also carried a sheaf of Madonna lilies. Mr Sidney Hubbard (friend) was best man.
Pastor Wade officiated at the ceremony and the hymns "The voice that breathed o'er Eden" and "Love Divine, all loves excelling" was sung. Mr Leonard Vincent presided at the organ.
The reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents. The happy couple, who received numerous presents, will make their home at Wetherden.
