1. | Mina Jardine Duthie CAMPBELL or SILVER was born on 25 Apr 1890 in 41 Netherkirkgate, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK (daughter of Jane CAMPBELL); died on 17 Apr 1958 in 464 North Anderson Dve, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: Possibly becomes known as Josephine Silver by 1901 as indicated by family census entry and no known record for a Josephine Silver born abt 1890. However, we have Mina on 1891 census with her mother along with statement about her paternity on the birth cert and the seeming estrangement between Jane and her husband. They then appear to reunite between 1891 and 1901 and have another child (Jessie) in 1896. In 1903, Alex Silver faced court over not ensuring his adopted daughter Josephine Silver went to school. |
3. | Jane CAMPBELL was born on 31 May 1863 in Aberlour, Banff, Scotland, UK; died on 9 Feb 1937 in 10 Tullos Circle, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: In 1890, she gave birth to a daughter named Mina Jardine Duthie Campbell (or Silver). With regard to paternity, the certificate states: Jane Campbell, wife of Alexander Silver, farm servant, who she declares is not the father of the child and further that she has had no personal communication with him since they ceased to reside together about 9 years ago. By 1901, Jane and Alex are reunited and have another daughter, Jessie, in 1896. Mina is not on 1901 census with family but there is a Josephine Silver of same age who seems to be Mina. Then we find Mina marrying in 1908 and giving her parents as Alex and Jane. Conclusion is that Mina and Josephine are same people.
