Generation: 2

  1. 2.  William SILVER was born in 1809 in Fetteresso, Kincardineshire, Scotland, UK (son of James SILVER and Elspet EDWARD); died on 12 Apr 1867 in Mary St, Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, Scotland, UK.

    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Occupation: Labourer

    Notes:

Based on death certificate, his parents are recorded as James SILVER and Elpset EDWARDS. Is it a mistake or a coincidence as Wm also married an Elspet EDWARD? No other records have yet been found to be sure as to which James SILVER was his father. Working theory is that BK7656 James Silver son of James Silver and Margaret Leith is the father.

Generation: 3

  1. 4.  James SILVER

James married Elspet EDWARD. Elspet was born on 16 Oct 1773 in Durris, Scotland, UK; died on 23 Jul 1862 in Carnieburn, Cookney, Scotland, UK. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 5.  Elspet EDWARD was born on 16 Oct 1773 in Durris, Scotland, UK; died on 23 Jul 1862 in Carnieburn, Cookney, Scotland, UK.

    Notes:

Question on age at death given as 91 years 9 months. If the age is correct, the best fit is an Elspet Edward born and baptised 2 Dec 1771 in Moray, northern Scotland. However, she would have need to have been born Oct 1771 for her to be 91 years 9 months at her 1862 death.
If we assume that her recorded age at death is a couple of years out, then best fit is a 16 Oct 1773 birth at Durris, Kincardine

    Birth:
    Possible fit for her parentage:
name: Elspet Edward gender: Female baptism/christening date: 02 Dec 1771
baptism/christening place: DRAINIE,MORAY,SCOTLAND father's name: James Edward indexing project (batch) number: C11130-2

On the basis that her age may not be correct on death cert, this could be her baptism which is closer to where she lived as well
