    This is the last Will and Testament of me James Payne Storey of 8 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate, in the County of Kent, Gentleman.

    I direct the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses. I hereby give to my wife Amelia otherwise Emily Sarah Storey all my plate, linen, wine, and consumable stores for her own use absolutely and I also give to her all other my household furniture and household effects for her absolute use and enjoyment during her life and after her decease, I direct that the same shall form part of my residuary estate.
    I give to my brother Charles Henry Storey a legacy of ?105 to be paid as conveniently may be after my decease.
    I devise and bequeath all my real, leasehold, and residuary personal estate except estates vested in me as trustee or mortgagee unto my said wife and to my said son George Adolphus Storey and my son in-law Ranier William Elwyn their heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns respectively who and the survivor and survivors of them and the heirs, executors, administrators of each survivor and other the trustees or trustee for the time being of my will and hereinafter referred to as my trustees or trustee upon trust that my said wife may use and enjoy the same and receive and take the rents and profit there of during her life for her own absolute use and benefit and upon the further trust that my trustees or trustee shall at the request and with the consent of my said wife but not otherwise during her life and after her decease absolutely at such time or times and in such manner as my trustees or trustee shall think fit sell, call in and convert into money my said real, leasehold, and residuary personal estate, and as must the proceed thereof if sold and converted during the lifetime of my said wife in one or more of the ------------? of investment herein after authorised as she shall direct and so that my said wife receive the income of such investment during her life and after the decease of my said wife, my trustees or trustee shall divide the proceeds of my said real, leasehold, and residuary personal estate (hereinafter called my trust funds) equally between and amongst my children living at my decease and the issue of any who shall be then dead who being male shall attain the age of 21 years or being female shall attain that age or marry such issue taking amongst them equally if more than one his her or their deceased parents share subject never-less as hereinafter mentioned and I direct that the share of each of my daughters if and in my trust funds shall be for her separate use and that the share of my son William Fitch Storey therein shall not be paid to him but shall be held by my trustees or trustee upon trust to invest in their names or name in some or one of the modes of investment hereinafter authorised with full power to vary and alter the same and to stand possessed thereof in trust during the joint lives of my said son, William Fitch Storey, and his wife Edith, and during the life of the survivor of them to pay and apply the income thereof for the maintenance and support or otherwise for the benefit of all or each one or more exclusively of the other or others of them the said William Fitch Storey and his said wife then in trust for the child or children of the said William Fitch Storey who being male shall attain the age of 21 years or being female shall attain that age or marry, if more than one in equal shares and if there shall be no such child then in trust for the said William Fitch Storey, his executors, administrators, and assigns, I declare that any money that may have been advanced by me to either of my sons shall be taken as part of his share in my trust funds and shall be bought into account accordingly but without charge for interest.

    I declare that my trustees or trustee with the consent of my wife during her life may lease any part of my real or leasehold estates for such term not exceeding 21 years and as such ----------? my said wife shall direct.
    I declare that all monies liable to be invested under this my will may be invested in the Government Stocks, or Funds, of the United Kingdom or India, or in the stock of the Bank of England or the Bonds or Debenture stock or Preference stock of any Railway Company in Great Britain, or upon real or leasehold securities in England and Wales, and I also declare that the statutory power of appointing new trustees shall for the purposes of this my will be vested in my said wife during her life and after her decease in the surviving or continuing trustees or trustee or in the executors or administrators of the last surviving trustee.
    I devise all estates vested in me as trustee or mortgagee unto my said trustees or trustee subject to the trusts or equities affecting the same respectively.
    I appoint my said wife sole Executrix during her life and after her death the said George Adolphus Storey and Ranier William Elwyn, Executors of this my will and I revoke all former and other wills.

    In witness whereof I have herein to set my hand this 6th day of March 1875 James Payne Storey------------- signed and declared by the said James Payne Storey the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witness Worthington Evans (Solicitor) 72 Coleman St, London Allen Colyer, Addington St, Ramsgate.

    This is a Codicil to the will of me James Payne Storey of 8 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate in the County of Kent, Gentleman
    which will is dated the 6th March 1875 whereas by my said will after giving to my dear wife Amelia otherwise Emily Sarah Storey all my plate, linen, wine , consumable stock, for her own use absolutely. I have given to her all other my household furniture and household effects for her absolute use and enjoyment during her life and after her decease I have directed that the same shall form part of my residuary estate. Now I do hereby revoke the said bequest of my household furniture and household effects, and in lieu thereof I give and bequeath the same unto my said dear wife for her own use absolutely and all other respect I confirm my said will.
    In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this day 20th September 1875 James Payne Storey---------signed by the said James Payne Storey the testator as and for a Codicil to his last will in the presence of us both being present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witness Lydia Chambers, 9 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate Margaret Castle, 8 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate.

    This is a second Codicil to the will of me James Payne Storey of 8 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate in the County of Kent, Gentleman, which will bears date the 6th day of March 1875 whereas since the execution of my first Codicil dated the 20th day of September 1875, my dear wife has departed this life.
    I desire and direct that my pictures and books shall not be sold but shall be divided among all my children living at my decease in shares equal in value as may be possible the allotment and apportionment thereof to be made by my executors with the assistance of my son in-law Phillip Hermogenes Calderon whose decision upon any point of difference between my said executors or between them and any of my children as to the value or mode of allotment shall be final and I direct that the pictures and books allotted to my son William Fitch Storey shall be his absolutely and not subject to the trusts declared as to his share of my trust estate, by my said will, and whereas my said dear wife shortly before her death advanced to my son Albert Storey the sum of ?500 which was raised by mortgage of property belonging to her at St Albans.
    Now I hereby declare that the said sum of ?500 was intended and shall be treated as an absolute gift by my said wife to the said Albert Storey and shall not be treated as an advance or taken into account in ascertaining the share of the said Albert Storey in my trust estate, in all other respects I hereby confirm my said will and declare that it shall operate and take effect as if my said wife had died immediately after me instead of in my lifetime.

    This is a Third Codicil to the will of me James Payne Storey of 8 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate, which will is dated the 6th day of March 1875.
    I give to my friend Mrs Mercy Allen of 56 Royal Rd, Ramsgate a legacy of ?30 free of duty as a small acknowledgement of her friendship and kindness to my late dear wife and subject there to confirm my said will and previous Codicils in witness whereof the said James Payne Storey have hereunto set my hand as and for a third Codicil to my last will and testament this 9th day of February in the year of our Lord 1876 ------- James Payne Storey ----- signed by the said James Payne Storey as and for a third Codicil to his last will and testament in the presence of us at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Fanny Paramour, 8 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate, Housekeeper ------------ Margaret Castle, 8 Royal Crescent, Ramsgate, Servant.
