Notes: Dinmore Letter. Obituary. Quite a gloom was cast ever the district when it became known that Mr. Sid. Nunn had passed away. He was a victim of the recent epidemic. Deceased was the seventh son of the late Mr. and Mrs David Nunn. The Nunn family are amongst the oldest families of Dinmore, and are well known throughout the whole of West Moreton. Deceased was married to the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E Hawkins, also of Dinmore, and had resided here the whole of his life. During his younger days he was a great cricket enthusiast, having played with the Whitwood Club. For many years deceased worked as a miner at the New Chum Collery. Some 12 months ago it became necessary for him to leave the mine owing to sickness, and he found employment at Messrs. Bognuda, Hudson and Co's pottery where he remained until the protracted dry spell made it necessary for the works to close. Deceased again worked as the New Chum pit up to the time he was taken ill. Deceased was only 46 years of age. He leaves a heartbroken wife and a family of 13, three of whom are married. The deepest sympathy is felt for the sorrowing family who have so suddenly been bereaved of the guardian of the home. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon. A service was conducted by the Rev. A. Tempest, who also conducted the service at the graveside. Sydney married Selina Rose HAWKINS on 21 Mar 1895 in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. Selina (daughter of Edward HAWKINS and Emma CUELL) was born on 18 Aug 1877 in Winchester, England, UK; died on 17 May 1968 in Dinmore, Queensland, Australia; was buried in May 1968 in C of E Ipswich Cemetery.
