    Married:
The marriage of Miss Myra Eileen Coker, fourth daughter of the late Mr. L. Coker and Mrs. Coker, Rockhampton, to Mr. R. Ralph, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph, Rockhampton, was celebrated at St. Paul's Cathedral on Wednesday afternoon, at half-past 2 o'clock. The Rev. Canon J. A. Cue officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr. R. G. Tucker, wore a pretty and becoming frock of ivory georguese, hand embroidered with cream chenille, and made long waisted effect. The bodice yoke was of interlaced faggoting, finished with posies of georgette and silver. She wore an Egyptian cap over a tulle veil, which formed the train, and was finished with orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful bouquet of white lilies and chrysanthemums. Miss L. Harding was bridesmaid. She was attired in a pretty soft lemon georgette frock made in panel effect, defined with pleating of ivory georgette and finished with hand embroidery in contrasting shades, finished at the waist with small flowers. She wore a pretty white crinoline Lady Betty hat shaded in yellow and trimmed with French flowers, tissue, and streamers, and carried a pretty bouquet of flowers. Mrs. Coker, mother of the bride, wore a handsome black georgette frock over morocain with a black ribbon hat, the crown being covered with a black osprey falling across the back. Mrs. Ralph, mother of the bridegroom, wore a becoming gown of black morocain and a black hat ensuite. Mr. T. Coker, brother of the bride, was best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to the A.C.B. Cafe, where the breakfast was held. The tables were tastefully decorated with Iceland poppies, sweet peas, and butterflies in lemon shade. A white wedding bell was hung over the bridal couple. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph left later for Yeppoon, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride travelled in a smart dress of shot brown and green pussy willow, long swathed bodice, and pleated skirt, finished with shaded hand embroidery to harmonise, and a smart bronze shot georgette cloche hat, crown of bronze, with folded back and flowers in shade of bronze to harmonise.

A man named Leonard Coker, who has for some years been in the service of the Railway Department, lost his life in a tragic manner shortly after six o'clock on Saturday evening, his head being almost severed from his body while he was in the ash pit underneath an engine.
Mr. Coker and a fireman named Walter Ashton took over the engine of the southern mail train for the purpose of coaling it and removing the ashes before shunting it to the shed.
Mr. Coker, with a torch and a spanner, entered the pit to examine the engine after it had been shunted just over him, and, according to Mr Ashton, who was on the board, gave a sharp whistle and moved the engine 18 in. or 2 ft.
Instantly he heard a sound as of groaning, and, jumping off the engine, was horrified to find Mr. Coker kneeling in the pit with his head practically cut off and resting over the left shoulder on the edge of the pit near the rail.
There was blood inside the rail and on the ledge, suggesting that Mr. Coker had put his head out between the wheels when he was caught by one of the wheels, which, passing over his neck, cut it through from under the chin.
There was no need, it is stated, for Mr. Coker to look out to examine any part of the engine on the outside, and the only conclusion to be come to is that he thought his companion had not heard his call to him to shift the engine and put his head out to repeat the call.
Those in authority were at once apprised and Mr Coker's body was removed.
The deceased left a wife and family.
His funeral will take place at half-past eleven o'clock this forenoon.
