He served in WW1 - Driver P. Nunn, Royal Field Artillery (33368) - Awarded the 1914-15 Star. Lost two fingers and suffered shell-shock, and discharged 'sick'/'with wounds' on 21st Jan 1918. Awarded the 'Silver war badge' (HW/ E. Scarlett)
He remained unmarried. Lived at 60, Brighton Road, Darlington.
Buried in the Darlington East Cemetery, plot C2Y/90.)

17309 Philip Nunn, born in Hargrave, SFK the 31 July 1834, died in Auckland, DUR in 1899, married Sarah Mason, in 1854 (born in 1832 in Wickhambrook, SFK).
(Notes : He had 5 sisters and 4 brothers On 1861 census, he is not recorded on census with Sarah and their first four children.
In 1881 census lives at Crook, Durham, with Sarah (wife) and child Jane Ann (1), Described as general labourer.
In 1891 census he lived at Freeholder's Houses, Crook, Durham.
By the 1901 census, Philip was dead, but Sarah continued to live in High Hope Street, Crook, Durham.)

Robert John Nunn, 18 years, builder's labourer, Dawson Road, Mt Gravatt, Unmarried.
Died Mater Hospital, South Brisbane, at 11.15am on 31 Jan 1941
Dr Leo T. Moran, M.B.B.S, Mater Hospital, South Brisbane attended deceased before death at Mater Hospital since admission on evening of 30 Jan 1941.
Inquiries show that Nunn was returning from his place of employment at about 5pm on 30 Jan 1941, and when riding his pedal cycle at a fast rate of speed down a steep incline on the Old Cleveland Road, Camp Hill, collided with a Bedford "6" Motor Lorry, No. 276-181, property of Simpson Bros., Ann St, Brisbane, and driven by Robert Francis Dabelstein, Ferguson Road, Camp Hill, at the corner of Ashton St and Old Cleveland Road, at about 5.05pm, with the result that he was thrown heavily on the roadway. Cause of death is certified as (a) Cerebral Haemorrhage. (b) Fracture Base of Skull. Fracture of Clavicle. No suspicious circumstances. Injuries apparently accidentally received.
Nearest relative: Deceased's father, George Nunn, who is a labourer, resides at Dawson Road, Mt Gravatt. No witnesses to the occurrence have so far been located.
